If you signed up for the Apple TV 4K device bundle offer and need help with the Fubo-branded remote included with your device, use this guide to help set up your remote or resolve common issues.
Setting Up Your Apple TV Remote
Pair your Apple TV remote
Before attempting to pair your remote, ensure new batteries are inserted.
- Power on your Apple TV 4K device
- To turn on your Apple TV 4K for the first time, make sure an HDMI cable is plugged into the device and your TV, and that your TV is set to the correct input
- Plug one end of the power cord into the device, and the other into an available outlet
- With your remote, stand close to the Apple TV 4K and try pressing a few buttons
- A prompt should appear in the upper-right corner of your TV screen
- Follow on-screen instructions to finish pairing your remote
Use your Apple TV remote to control the Volume, Mute, and Power of your TV or receiver
If your TV or receiver supports HDMI-CEC, your Apple TV 4K uses the HDMI connection, allowing it to be controlled by your Apple TV remote.
- From the Apple TV Home screen, select Settings
- Next, select Remotes and Devices
- Set Control TVs and Receivers to ON
Troubleshooting Your Apple TV Remote
Basic Troubleshooting
If you're experiencing any issues with your Apple TV remote, try these general troubleshooting steps, or read below for solutions to more specific issues:
- Make sure batteries are properly inserted and working - replace if needed
- Check for any obstructions between the remote and the Apple TV 4K
- Restart your Apple TV 4K by unplugging it from power for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in
- Un-pair and re-pair the remote
- Try pairing the remote to another device to see if the issue is with the remote or the Apple TV 4K
My Apple TV remote won’t pair with my Apple TV 4K
- With your remote, stand close to your Apple TV 4K, and try pressing a few buttons on the remote
- A prompt should appear in the upper-right of the screen
- If you don’t see the prompt, hold down the Menu and Volume Up (+) buttons for 5 seconds
- Once the prompt appears, hold the remote close to the Apple TV 4K and it should pair automatically
My Apple TV remote won’t control the volume of my sound bar, receiver, or TV
If you have the original remote for your sound bar, receiver, or TV, you can use the Learning function of the Apple TV 4K device:
- From the Apple TV 4K Home screen, select Settings
- Next, choose Remotes and Devices
- Finally, select Volume Control, and then Learn New Device
- Point the original remote toward your Apple TV 4K, and press the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Mute buttons
- These settings will be transferred to the Apple TV remote
- You may need to restart your Apple TV 4K for these changes to take effect
To restart your Apple TV 4K
- From the Home screen, select Settings
- Next, select System
- Finally, select Restart

- You can jump to a specific channel using the Browse While Watching feature on Fubo
My remote doesn’t work at all or was damaged during shipping
- Make sure that new batteries are inserted in your remote; if it is still not functioning, please contact us using the link at the bottom of this page

- 💡 Pro tip: If the remote you were sent requires replacement, if you have a compatible iOS device (iPhone or iPad), you can temporarily use your device as a remote by setting up access through Control Center
