Watch up to four live channels at the same time on one screen with Multiview on AppleTV.
There are two ways to access Multiview:
From the menu
- Highlight the live channel or event you want to watch from any menu screen
- Press and hold the touchpad to open the options menu
- Select Watch in Multiview
- Swipe left or right to highlight a second channel and click the touchpad to select the channel
From live TV
- Swipe up to view more live channels
- Swipe left or right to highlight a second channel to watch then press and hold the touchpad to watch in Multiview
While watching two or three channels with multiview:
- Swipe down on the remote trackpad to view additional channels
- Swipe left or right to highlight an additional channel and click the touchpad to select the channel
Highlight the view you want to remove, then press and hold the trackpad, and select Remove View.
Note that if you only have two screens open, removing one will exit Multiview
Swipe up, down, left or right to highlight the channel you’d like to hear audio from. You’ll see a small volume icon in the bottom left of the channel playing audio.
If one channel is larger than the others
- Highlight and select one of the smaller channels to swap it to the larger window
- Select the larger channel to make it fullscreen
- Press the Menu button on your remote while viewing a channel fullscreen to return to Multiview
If all channels in Multiview are currently the same size
- Highlight and select a channel to make it fullscreen
- Press the Menu button on your remote while viewing a channel fullscreen to return to Multiview
To fully exit Multiview, press Menu on your Apple TV remote, then select Exit Multiview
You'll be taken to a fullscreen view of the channel that was highlighted when exiting Multiview.
If you change your mind and want to stay in Multiview, select Cancel.This feature is currently available on Apple TV and select Roku devices. We intend to keep improving the Multiview experience and are currently looking into how to bring it to our other apps and supported devices.
