Watching sports, shows or movies on Fubo uses varying amounts of data, depending on the stream quality. Because much of the content on Fubo is streamed live, it requires higher data usage than subscription video on-demand (SVOD) services.
Your data usage depends on your internet connection speed and the resolution of the content you’re watching.
The data usage rates below are the minimum estimated amounts of data needed to stream an hour of live Fubo programming in various resolutions. Actual data usage rates will vary depending on your internet connection speed, the device you’re watching on, the channel and programming you’re watching, as well as whether you’re watching live, on-demand or a DVR recording.
Resolution | Minimum Data Usage (Estimated) |
480p | 1.21 GBPH |
720p | 1.67 GBPH |
1080p | 2.03 GBPH |
4K* | 7.11 GBPH |
GBPH = Gigabytes per hour
Can I control my data usage?
On select devices, you can adjust the resolution of streaming video from within the Fubo app. Changing the video resolution can lower the amount of data being used while streaming Fubo.
